Bethany Haug

Bethany serves as an Administrative Assistant in the executive office at the Skoll Foundation, helping support Sally Osberg, President and CEO of the Foundation.

Bethany received her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from San Francisco State University in December 2007, landing on the Dean’s List in her  final two years.  During the program, she interned at the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition of Redwood City, helping prepare teacher training, organize events, and do research on public health issues.  Her coursework at S.F State included environmental studies, community organization, health policy and community health assessment.  Bethany is a member of the American Public Health Association. 

While earning her degree, Bethany worked as a member service representative at Club One Fitness in San Francisco.  Prior to that, she spent seven years as an administrative assistant in a medical office in Santa Barbara. 

In her free time Bethany enjoys taking dance classes, trying new restaurants and traveling abroad, with recent trips including St. Lucia in the Caribbean and backpacking through Europe.

Social entrepreneurship is attracting growing amounts of talent, money, and attention. But along with its increasing popularity has come less certainty about what exactly a social entrepreneur is and does. As a result, all sorts of activities are now being called social entrepreneurship.
