Ana Lucia Zacapa

As Program Officer for the Skoll Foundation, Ana Lucía Zacapa manages a variety of grant relationships as a member of the Program and Impact team.

Prior to working at Skoll, Ana spent over seven years in the financial industry. Most recently, Ana worked at Banc of America Securities in San Francisco as a Vice President in equity research focusing on the alternative energy sector. Ana’s work included researching and providing investment recommendations on U.S. and Chinese solar companies. Between 1998 and 2003, Ana worked at Bear Stearns in New York City initially in corporate finance investment banking and later in emerging markets equity research. As part of her work at Bear Stearns, Ana traveled extensively in Latin America.

Ana was born and raised in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. She came to the United States in 1994 to attend Duke University. She graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a minor in Political Science. In 2004, Ana earned a master’s degree in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she studied development theory, as well as the political economy of developing nations. Ana also spent a year volunteering with women in a rural village in Honduras. She is fluent in Spanish and Italian and reads Portuguese.
