Skoll Foundation Announces Three New Appointments

PALO ALTO, Calif.—August 3, 2006—The Skoll Foundation announced today that Jason Clark has been named Web Manager of Social Edge, Brittany Boettcher has been appointed as Administrative Assistant and Johnny Falla has been chosen as Associate Program Officer.

As Web Manager of Social Edge, Jason Clark is responsible for developing and implementing new functionality to enable social entrepreneurs, social benefit organizations and other interested parties to connect with one another and to share their experiences and knowledge with the community at large on the Skoll Foundation’s online community at www.socialedge.org.

Prior to joining the foundation, Jason developed, implemented and managed a wide variety of Web sites, including Ingram Micro’s first B2B commerce extranet and the RosettaNet community’s portal site. RosettaNet.org enabled the standards body’s partners to collaborate on the development of XML-based e-business transaction standards and business processes, as well as the sharing of implementation resources and data between partners. Additionally, he built an innovative but short-lived celebrity news and biography site, PublicFigure.com, and worked with the Web development team at Arbonne International to streamline business and technical processes.

In her role as Administrative Assistant, Brittany Boettcher works closely with Wendy Marzetta in the executive office of Sally Osberg, President and CEO of the Skoll Foundation.

Brittany came to the foundation from the Ace Capital Group in Redwood City, Calif., where she was the Senior Administrative Assistant in the marketing department. Prior to relocating to California, she worked as the Processing Coordinator for Kemper Mortgage, Inc., in Englewood, Colo. While attending college, she was the Volunteer Coordinator of the International English Center in Boulder, Colo., where she worked independently to create and promote a program to help the foreign students learn conversational English.

As Associate Program Officer, Johnny Falla works with the foundation’s Program and Impact team on grantmaking and partner relationships.

Johnny recently graduated from Stanford University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations and was the first student to complete a minor in social innovation. While at Stanford, he served as President of the Future Social Innovators Network (FUSION) for two years, the country’s first undergraduate student interest group in social entrepreneurship, and he helped advocate for social innovation as an area of concentration at the university. Working with FUSION, Johnny focused on building the next generation of social entrepreneurs across schools at Stanford by opening up new opportunities for students to explore the field while sustaining and growing the organization.
