Nobel Prize Musings Include Skoll Social EntrepreneursOctober 20, 2009 by Bruce Lowry
The awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Obama has led to a lot of press around whether the President warranted the prize and speculation on who else might have been deserving. A few Skoll social entrepreneurs factored into this discussion. Fast Company recommended five organizations to whom President Obama could donate his award money. They included Skoll award recipients Barefoot College and the PeaceWorks Foundation’s OneVoice Movement. Separately, Nick Kristof of the New York Times blogged about the Nobel Prize award to President Obama, and put forward several other deserving candidates, among whom were Paul Farmer, a 2008 Skoll social entrepreneur and co-founder of Partners in Health.
It’s great to see these organizations achieve this high level of regard.
