As the Business Technology Director, Jim Murphy leads the development and implementation of the Foundation’s evolving technology architecture. Jim will help the Foundation to develop best practices and become a model for demonstrating the benefits of a collaborative and networked approach to addressing some of the world’s most pressing problems. Jim also acts as a mentor and coach for the adoption of technologies, processes, and skills that facilitate driving results through collaboration.
Jim has over 20 years of experience at Hewlett Packard as both a provider and consumer of technology, with leadership roles in Information Technology, Services, and Marketing. Most recently Jim was the Senior Director of Enterprise Services IT where he led the integration of EDS IT systems into HP and was responsible for the ongoing management of the business’ dedicated IT systems. Prior to this, Jim was General Manager of the multi-billion dollar Server Support Business. Jim also has served in leadership roles in marketing for HP’s Services and UNIX businesses.
Jim earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
