“It Started with Sally and Her Vision,” Arianna Huffington said of Sally Osberg

October 5, 2012 by

“It all started in Oxford,” said Arianna Huffington, referring to the Skoll World Forum. Then, as she introduced Thursday’s Huffington Post Live panel about our new JobRaising contest, she added, “It really started with Sally [Osberg] and her vision. My favorite thing that Sally says is when she quotes John Gardner: ‘What we have are breathtaking opportunities disguised as unsolvable problems.'”

And so the conversation continued, with Robert Wolfe of CrowdRise, and Lynn Taliento of McKinsey & Company announcing the launch of The JobRaising Challenge, our competition to help job-creating nonprofits gain prominence and scale through fundraising.  They all sat down with HuffPost Live’s Josh Zepps to talk about the jobs crisis in America and how the JobRaising Challenge will help nonprofits nationwide provide solutions. The name “JobRaising” is meant to evoke America’s barnraising spirit.

Watch above, and learn more about what they are looking for in the competition!
